Fino Goes Pink and Grows a 'Stache!
What's going on with Fino?
No we haven’t dyed all our sofas pink and given them all a Dali moustache (yet)! We’re here to remind everyone of the essential organisations around the world that are raising awareness for important global issues. This year, these two critical events have been combined under one banner with the hashtags #faceyourfear #pinkoctober #movember thanks to the Marigold Foundation. Fino has taken the initiative once again to participate in helping to spread awareness and collect donations to further research on breast cancer and men’s health worldwide. And don’t we all look great with our fancy pink flair and fantastic moustaches too?
What is Pink October and Why It Matters
The Pink Month is a global effort to raise awareness of breast cancer. Involving the worldwide participation of thousands of organisations, this effort highlights the importance of breast awareness, education and research. Breast cancer is by far the most common cancer experienced by women around the world, in both developed and developing countries. First founded in 1997, Pink October has instigated a movement for several authorities to offer educational programmes and catch cancer in the early stages of development, making raising awareness such a vital part of their campaign. Being aware is being prepared, so remember to wear it pink and remind others to do the same!
What is Movember and Why It Matters
It’s time to bust out the old moustache. No Shave November is just around the corner and it’s here to remind us all to let our burly face-fluff fly! Born in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, the idea for Movember was originally a challenge among a group of self-titled “Mo Bros” to grow out their moustaches for a whole month and see if they can bring back the style. These soon-to-be founders linked up the challenge to the worthy cause of promoting awareness of men’s health and established The Movember Foundation. In 2019, the No Shave Month brings in participants from around the globe to raise money for men’s health projects whilst establishing the most dapper of facial hair.
